Sense8 is an American science fiction drama web television series created, written and executive-produced by Andy and Lana Wachowski (The Matrix Creators) and J. Michael Straczynski.

So far, the 1st season of sense8 with total of 12 episodes has been produced and became available for streaming on Netflix on June 5, 2015. It revolves around 8 people who are strangers to each other and are living very different lives in very different places all around the world, but find themselves suddenly linked together. For example, A Mexican movie star finds himself looking at a Korean businesswoman. A Chicago cop is suddenly in the same room as an Icelandic DJ. A transgender hacker finds a bus driver from Nariobi in the driver’s seat. An Indian scientist sees a German criminal. They don’t know why, or how, this is happening.

The interesting thing about the show is the different religion/background of these people, it is indeed nice to see so many different ethnicities on the same program.

Other Supporting Regulars

Freema Agyeman as Amanita, Nomi’s girlfriend, Anupam Kher as Sanyam Dandekar, Kala’s father, a chef who owns a restaurant. Terrence Mann as Whispers, a sensate turned against his own kind. Naveen Andrews as Jonas Maliki, a sensate from a different cluster-of-eight who wants to help the newly born cluster of sensates and Daryl Hannah as Angelica “Angel” Turing, sensate from an older cluster (which included Jonas) who becomes the “mother” of the cluster of eight new sensates as she activates their psychic connection.

sense8transgendernomiAll the characters have different personalities, while some of the characters aren’t as strong as other. Like, one of the show’s strongest characters, Nomi (Jamie Clayton), is a trans woman and a former hacker in a lesbian relationship with Amanita.

Naveen Andrews (Lost) pops in and out as Jonas, a figure who, while not one of the eight, is also able to appear to them, with cryptic bits of information about what’s going on.

So What’s in it for You

After a 3 day marathon I completed the whole season 1 and no doubt this show is awfully addictive. The overwhelming life of sense8 characters, their dramas, emotions, highs and lows both mentally, physically and sexually makes you want to watch it more and more. Now I am literally googling to see when the next season is and this is the worst part with Netflix i.e. waiting for the next season of your favorite show. I’m hooked and looking forward to season 2 through to whatever number the makers have planned.

So, guys let us know what you think of this new and amazing series. Keep pouring the comments and share your favorite characters in sense8. Till then, I will check out some new netflix shows to binge watch.  For more information about #Sense8, follow the series on Twitter.
