A razor rash is common after shaving the bikini area and it can be irritating and itchy besides being painful too. If you love keeping the area smooth and hairless, then you need to find ways through which you can get rid of the razor bumps on bikini line
as soon as they appear. Here are some of the best ways you can use to prevent razor bumps.
Exfoliate the Bikini Area
You can use loofah sponge, washcloth or mitt to do this at least twice every week to help remove dead cells which end up blocking the air follicles leading to the bumps. It is also a simple away of freeing trapped hair within the bumps thus opening them up and preventing spread of infection or formation of new bumps. For inflamed skin, exfoliate after a day to avoid making the irritation worse.
Use Baking Soda Around the Bikini Area
It is an anti-inflammatory and will therefore soothe the skin, preventing further irritation and development of the razor bumps. The soda also has amphoteric properties which control pH levels greatly reducing inflammation. A teaspoonful can be added to a cup of water and the mixture applied onto the bikini area and left for five minutes before rinsing using cold water. It facilitates the closing of pores and eliminates redness and burning sensation within a short few minutes. This can be done at least twice daily till desired results are achieved.
Use Aloe Vera on the Razor Bumps
It serves as an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent effectively healing razor bumps even on sensitive skin. It is good enough for all skin types and it comes with added skin and health benefits. Get gel from fresh Aloe Vera leaves and massage the affected area or rub the fresh leaves onto the area and let it dry before using cool water to rinse. It can be done three times daily until recovery.
Use Hydrocortisone Cream on the Bikini Area
The cream has the ability to reduce inflammation, swelling, and redness of the razor bumps. An application of the cream will give you very fast results. You can also use vinegar and honey, tea tree oil, oatmeal, olive oil, witch hazel and Retin A cream because they have soothing and antibacterial properties that will help eliminate the razor bumps fast.
